Horse Riding Lessons

Riding School Information

Our Riding School provides quality Hunt Seat Riding Instruction at all levels. Lessons emphasize learning to ride by building a strong foundation.

Our qualified riding instructors teach the basics of horsemanship through fun and rewarding exercises.

Students learn the necessary skills to care for their lesson horse, including: grooming, handling, tacking up and basic horse care.

Our Riding School offers accelerated programs for students focusing on specific goals, as well as programs that let students develop their skills in a more leisurely manner. Students are encouraged to participate in horse shows and clinics. Leasing is available on an individual basis.

Riding School Lessons

Our Riding School provides students with the necessary equipment, grooming supplies, tack, and of course a suitable mount. After the first lesson, students will need to purchase an ASTM F-1163-00/SEI certified helmet. Breeches and boots are preferred; breeches with half chaps and paddock boots are required. Sorry, No Jeans. All rates reflect a 4% cash discount.

Group Lessons

A group lesson consists of two or more riders.

Flat group lessons generally run 50 minutes (up to 1 hour for five or more riders).

Jumping group lessons usually run 1 hour (up to 1 hour 15 minutes for five or more riders).

* Please note: the times listed above are for groups of two or more. If only one rider shows up for a group lesson,
the lesson will run 30 to 40 minutes.

Please note we require a 24 hr. cancellation on all lessons, or students will be billed at full price, sorry, no exceptions. Once you are on our schedule we will no longer confirm your lessons, you will have a standing appointment. If you do need to make a change to your lesson time you will just need to give us a call or leave us a voice mail message with your name and the day and time you wish to ride. We will only call you back if it doesn't fit into our schedule.

Cancellations

Weekday Lessons

We require 24 hours advance notice to cancel a weekday lesson. If you are unable to give us 24 hours notice to cancel your lesson
and we are unable to fill your slot, you will be charged full price for your lesson.

Weekend Lessons

Saturdays and Sunday: 24-hour notice required to avoid full charge for lesson.

Note

We will always try to put another rider in your place if you cancel. This is why we need the advance notice. When you are unable to give us advance notice (as requested above) the chance of us finding another rider to replace you is time consuming and difficult. Often we lose the opportunity to fill your slot and the income from that lesson. If that occurs, we need to charge you for your lesson. If you have any questions, feel free to call Shelly Stull at (626) 807-0618, Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Additional Activities & Programs

Our Riding School students are encouraged to participate in many activities offered by the ranch including: horse shows, clinics, barbecues, day and summer camps, as well as lease programs.

When the time comes, we can assist students with the purchase of their first horse. We also help students make the transition into our Full Training and Showing programs.

Please call the office to schedule a tour, lesson or to answer any further questions you might have on our Riding School.
